TINNITUS - THAT RINGING SOUND
That ringing, roaring, clicking or hissing sound that you
may hear could be Tinnitus, a common symptom often
associated with hearing loss that affects more than 3
million Canadians.
Tinnitus can result from loud noise exposure, health problems,
certain types of medication or various conditions afflicting
the ear. Although tinnitus has no cure, an audiologist may
be able to provide relief through a number of treatments,
including hearing aids, sound generators, counselling and
tinnitus retraining therapy.
Hearing aids amplify the sounds you need to hear and
reduce the distractions of tinnitus so you can better hear
other people, watch programs or listen to music.
